Process Management

The module lets process owners manage the complete development of business processes from design to testing. Users can design and map processes using a Process Modeler - a highly interactive, user friendly, web based tool that eliminates the need for technical coding. Rules governing processes can be defined using the Business Rules Engine, and validated using the Process Simulator - which allows a dry run for the system. All business rules governing the processes reside in the Business Rules Engine, allowing process owners to modify the business logic when required, instead of altering the process itself.



The Workflow Management module enables the automation and execution of processes modeled through the Process Modeler. The Task Manager enables process owners to monitor, review and update their workflow - task as well as perform a variety of functions such as halting a workflow to resolve an issue, and assigning roles for a workflow. Real time status of processes, activities and trigger events is provided by the Activity Monitoring function. The Workflow Calendar allows a host of activities to be performed related to workflow scheduling - such as specifying start and due date, meetings and missed tasks and reminders.

Interface Designer

The Interface Designer offers a wide variety of standard UI components such as checkboxes, text fields, drop downs, which can be dragged and dropped for creating modules, applications, forms and processes. The code for the designed forms is automatically generated.

The components on offer in the Interface Designer are varied and built to suit all requirements. For e.g. the ‘grid’ component offers all functionalities of a standard spreadsheet application and can be extremely useful in working with large amounts of data. It allows multiple drill downs into datasets for greater visibility in the data.

Along with the standard components, jSonic BPM also offers Collaboration functionalities that include document management, portals, web service reporting services and more.


Collaborating process information for the concerned stakeholders is crucial. Our collaboration module supports document management, portals and web services for effective management and distribution of documents, reports and related items across the enterprise and third parties.


jSonic offers reports on Process Analysis in intuitive and interactive formats. Mashable dashboards enable process owners to view customized reports on analysis of process parameters. Detailed Information is available by drilling down into the data sets. Reports are available in multiple formats and layouts, with ad-hoc parameter driven report generation.

Data Management

JSONIC BPM employs Open Database Access (ODA) mechanism that ensures a single interface for all data sources - Data warehouse and Process database, among others. This layer enables full access to data even if the underlying databases are not similar. Technically speaking, interaction with different data sources is enabled through the JDBC driver.

Database connections are defined in the webforms that are created in jSonic. The user can define database connections and use it in the created webforms.

There is a two way communication between the webforms data and the targeted database. Data from the webforms can be directly posted in the database, and conversely data from the database can be viewed in the webforms.

Object Relationship Modeling and UML diagrams are employed to enable users to have a better understanding of the relationship between various entities and the database.

Document Management

Manage the entire lifecycle of documents within an organization. It has functionalities to create, capture, store, share, preserve, search and tag documents for efficient and effective management of documents.


Easily add any document in any format, individually or in batches. Document formats supported include Microsoft Office® documents, Rich Media Content such as Podcasts and Videos, among others. Arrange files by name, size, type, date modified, permission, status and author. Documents can be viewed in detailed, list or icon view.

Content Authoring and Capture

There are automated tools for content creation and authoring workflows. Files can be arranged by name, size, type, date modified, permission, status and author. Collaborative authoring capabilities based on permissions are provided.

Document Lifecycle Management

The document lifecycle can be managed with tools such as versioning and archiving. Users can also maintain and track multiple versions of documents, archive documents at any time with one click and set archiving rules to archive documents automatically at intervals defined by users.


Tagging helps add context to documents by assigning tags to them, creating virtual document folders for quick and intuitive storage and retrieval. Adding, editing and deleting tags relevant to a document can be easily done through a simple interface. The solution offers one-click multi dimensional tagging for creating ‘Virtual Folders’.


Searching for documents is based on tags, file names and document content. Advanced Enterprise Search capabilities, including ‘search-as-you-type’ help arrive at search results faster. ‘Search previews’ enable a more contextual and meaningful search without having to open the document.


Permission based sharing ensures secure collaboration and information distribution. Permissions can be set to share user generated or imported files with individuals in the network, selected individuals or with everyone..
